ARDMORE, Okla. — Ardmore City Schools is proud to announce its partnership with the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) in helping establish the Southern Oklahoma School Crisis Response Network, a regional initiative designed to strengthen crisis response and recovery efforts for schools across southern Oklahoma.

The network brings together trained school and community professionals who can provide support to districts before, during, and after crisis situations. Participating districts receive specialized training and become part of a collaborative system focused on ensuring schools have access to additional resources when they are needed most.

Through this partnership, Ardmore City Schools is developing a trained team of staff members who will be prepared to assist both within the district and across the region. Team members will receive evidence-based PREPaRE training, a nationally recognized school crisis prevention and intervention program.

School officials believe the network will enhance the district’s ability to respond to a variety of challenges, including severe weather events, community trauma, student or staff deaths, and other critical incidents that can impact school communities.

“Providing a safe and supportive environment for our students and staff is always a top priority,” said district leaders. “By joining the Southern Oklahoma School Crisis Response Network, we are strengthening our preparedness and ensuring that help is available when schools need it most.”

Participation in the network does not require districts to respond to every request for assistance, nor does it take away local decision-making authority. Instead, it creates a regional support system where trained personnel can collaborate and provide assistance when requested.

Ardmore City Schools is excited to be part of this important initiative and remains committed to supporting the well-being of students, staff, families, and the greater community. District leaders believe that strong partnerships and proactive planning are essential to ensuring that no school faces a crisis alone.

The Southern Oklahoma School Crisis Response Network is expected to begin serving participating districts in Summer 2026.
